About My Class
Welcome to Mrs. Gross' math class!!! I look forward to helping you have your best year yet! I will provide a safe environment to ask questions and work in groups so we can all help each other discover the next level of math. You will be expected to try your best, and with some hard work and focus, you will surprise yourself!
It is my goal to give you time to work in class on assignments in order to ask questions, but many days there will be work to take home and finish. Most days we will work in groups so you can help one another while I walk around and make sure everyone is not only doing what they're supposed to but also to answer questions and help along the way. My goal is to dispel the myth that math is hard and the attitude many people have of, "I can't do this."
This is my 14th year teaching math (I took a 6 yr break to stay home with my babies). I have taught across the country from middle school to college and have much experience and tools to offer in making math more understandable. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Oakland University and a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. I love to learn and if I could be a professional student, I would! I love to read, camp, cook, garden, play with my kids and our dogs!
You can contact me by email at [email protected] or by phone at 586.723.2998.
